Nick Ruffing

Congratulations Nick Ruffing on joining GradFin! Nick is GradFin’s latest hire, and we are very excited to have him with us. To learn a little bit more about Nick and the ways in which he will be an asset to the company, we sat down for a short Q&A.

Q: Where did you attend school and what did you study?

A: I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management from Robert Morris University in Moon Township, PA.

Q: What were you doing before GradFin?

A: I worked as a Loan Representative with Dollar Bank.

Q: What drew you to GradFin? What is it about this position that excites you?

A: I have worked in the Finance Industry for several years and I wanted to find a company where I could have a more hands on experience with my customers. GradFin takes time with each of their customers to make sure they are in the best financial situation.

Q: What experiences are you bringing to your new role and how can this help a GradFin client?

A: I have a lot of experience in loans and have an understanding of debt, credit and the ability to work a loan to save a borrower the most money. I have experience in Credit Cards, Personal, Auto, RV, Boat and Home Equity Loans and Lines of Credit. Not only can I help Student Loan borrowers but I have the skills to speak to our customers about all of their loans and find the best solutions for them.

Q: Why are you passionate about helping people manage their student loans?

A: When a person takes a student loan out, it is, in some cases, the first major debt they have. GradFin’s goal is to save our customers money and set them on a path for financial success. If we can help a young person, recent college graduate, or working professional develop healthy financial habits and save them money, we can make a real difference in a person’s life. Helping people has always, and will always be what drives me.

Q: What have you learned from your experience so far with GradFin?

A: Student Loans can, more than any other type of loan, seem very complicated and can be overwhelming for anyone. With different types of loans, Federal and Private, Subsidized and Unsubsidized, the amount of information can be staggering.

The expertise of the team and the wealth of knowledge available at GradFin can break down these loans and find individuals not only the best options for refinance but also explain options like Income Driven Repayment Plans to give better monthly payments, and Public Service Loan Forgiveness to provide aid to the hard working individuals making our communities a better place.
