GradFin Welcomes Michael Woodward to the Team

Mike Woodward

Congratulations Michael Woodward on joining GradFin! Mike is another new GradFin hire, and we are very excited to have him with us. To learn a little bit more about Mike and the ways in which he will be an asset to the company, we sat down for a short Q&A.

Q: Where did you attend school and what did you study?

A: I attended the University of Massachusetts (Lowell), and studied Business Administration and Finance.

Q: What were you doing before GradFin?

A: Before Gradfin, I was getting my degree while working for a moving company.

Q: What drew you to GradFin? What is it about this position that excites you?

A: GradFin caught my eye immediately when I saw the solutions GradFin provides to customers. It is exciting to be in a position where I am helping people find solutions that work for them. The best part is that I’m never going to be a part of a deal that isn’t a win for our client.

Q: What experiences are you bringing to your new role and how can this help a GradFin
client?

A: As a mover, I got to see the end result of the work that happens on the mortgage side of things. I’ve been to houses where the closing falls through as we are arriving to unload their possessions – that is a disaster! I have seen the stress that comes with buying a new home, and I am so happy to be able to alleviate that stress in this position. The bottom line is that I understand completely how delicate of a process this can be, and how truly devastating it can be for someone to not have good help on the loan.

Q: Why are you passionate about helping people manage their student loans?

A: I was a student myself until this past December. I tried my best during school to make as much money to put towards school as possible, yet still find myself in what feels like an unfair amount of student debt. I understand how confusing and aggravating student loans can be – as I am dealing with that myself!

Q: What have you learned from your experience so far with GradFin?

A: So much! I’ve learned all about the loan process from start to finish. I’ve learned how to work in a new environment, and have met some really great people here at GradFin.
