GradFin’s mission is to help student loan borrowers manage their debt so they can start saving for their future. Since 2015, we have worked with over 30,000 borrowers across the nation to help them tackle student loan debt.
The United States has roughly $1.6 trillion in student loan debt. The state of California alone is responsible for approximately $138 billion. The average borrower in California holds $36,400 in student loan debt. With the highest number of indebted students (about 3.8 million individuals), GradFin’s expansion to “the golden state” was a no-brainer. We want to assist as many borrowers as possible and expanding our presence on the west coast will certainly help us do so.
Sarah Johnston was GradFin’s first employee on the west coast. Sarah is familiar with the west coast, as she graduated college from Arizona State in 2017. She leads GradFin’s west coast business development team out of Los Angeles, CA. Since being on the West Coast for a year now, Sarah has built new relationships with over 500 financial advisors while maintaining over 1,000 existing relationships with advisors that she has had since beginning with GradFin in 2018.
Before the pandemic, Sarah traveled throughout California and Arizona presenting to financial firms. As COVID cases increased, travel halted and virtual presentations became the new norm. During the remainder of 2020, she hosted webinars for over 30 west coast offices with the goal of expanding GradFin’s services to clients in all corners of the U.S. By the end of 2020, Sarah coordinated over 1,600 client consultations saving these borrowers millions of dollars over the life of their loan.
This January, Loan Expert, Jacob Doyle, joined the west coast operations team by opening up an office in San Diego, CA. With the addition of Jacob in California, GradFin will be able to reach more student loan borrowers and help them achieve their financial goals. Jacob joined GradFin after receiving his master’s degree in education in December of 2019. With a background in education and a desire to help student loan borrowers meet their financial goals, Jacob’s hard-work, compassion, and expertise has helped over 400 clients refinance more than $32 million in student loans. In addition to being a busy student loan consultant, Jacob assists GradFin with its digital presence initiatives.
With a new office in San Diego, GradFin’s excited to expand its services to more student loan borrowers. With Jacob’s help, our consultations hours have expanded and we are now available until 6:00pm PST and we have evening hours on Monday until 9:00pm PST. Additionally, our team has exciting projects to look forward to in 2021. We are rolling out new marketing campaigns, hosting events for advisors and clients, and hope to resume our west coast travel plans again soon.
GradFin strongly believes that every borrower can enhance their student loan repayment plan with the support of a student loan consultant. With the expansion on the west coast, GradFin hopes to reach more borrowers and help more individuals pay down and manage their debt as quickly and efficiently as possible.
