Congratulations to Kyle Murphy on starting his new role with GradFin as a Student Loan Consultant! Kyle or “Murph” is GradFin’s first new hire since March. To learn a little bit more about Murph and the ways in which he will be an asset to the company, we sat down for a quick Q&A.
Q: Where did you attend school and what did you study?
A: University of Pittsburgh School of Law – JD

Q: What were you doing before GradFin?
A: I was working in tax analysis and planning for a Big Four accounting firm.
Q: What drew you to GradFin? What is it about this position that excites you?
A: I wanted to talk to clients directly and actually help individual people. What excites me most about this position is being able to help people save money and pay down debt!
Q: What experiences are you bringing to your new role and how can this help a GradFin client?
A: Tax preparation, analysis, and planning experience, as well as customer relations and business management. I can help GradFin clients with tax questions and personal finance questions on strategically paying down loans.
Q: Why are you passionate about helping people manage their student loans?
A: Student loans can be a weight around your neck that can make you feel like you’re drowning. I’m passionate about helping people get to a place where they can manage their student loans and grow their financial independence.
Q: What have you learned from your experience so far with GradFin?
A: I’ve learned that people often do not want to even think about their loans, but confronting the issue directly with the institutional knowledge of GradFin can lead to lower monthly payments and paying off loans sooner.
